Documentation Requirements

What we ask for once your product passes eligibility screening.

How much we ask for depends on the product. The list below is the full range, not a checklist every applicant has to complete. A simple product made from one qualifying material needs very little. A multi-component product with coatings, adhesives, and mixed materials needs more.

Documentation Requirements

We keep the initial application light. Detailed documentation is only requested once a product passes our eligibility screening, and we ask only for what a determination on your specific product actually requires.

Before eligibility screening

After eligibility approval

Depending on the product, we may ask for some or all of the following:

How we use your documentation

We do not disclose your documentation to third parties without your permission, except where required by law.

What this looks like in practice

Two illustrative examples, to show the range:

A one-piece steel scoop

  • One line of bill of materials: 304 stainless steel, food grade
  • A note that the retail packaging is uncoated paperboard
  • The signed accuracy attestation

Nothing else is needed. The product is a single qualifying material with no coating, no adhesive, and no second component, so there is nothing further for a review to resolve.

A multi-part feeding system

  • Bill of materials for every component
  • Supplier specifications for each material, including grade and cure where relevant
  • Details of any coatings, adhesives, seals, or liners
  • Packaging specification for anything contacting the contents
  • Process notes where manufacturing could affect shedding
  • The signed accuracy attestation

More components mean more places a disqualifying material can hide, so the evidence has to cover each of them.

If you are unsure which end of that range your product sits at, send us the product description at the free screening stage and we will tell you exactly what we need before any fee applies.
